# Situated Possibility Formation

Makes useful possibilities intelligible and develops the questions, relations or means that can turn them into work.

# Situated Possibility Formation

**Discover and develop possibilities for a project**

A possibility can be another question, relation, method, source, capability or form of organization. Understanding it can change the apparent task itself.

The current context supplies a starting point. People, competences and newly reached sources can make other relations material while the work develops.

## Enter through the living context

Understand intent, current work, sources, established decisions and open relations together. A meaningful context can carry direction before a next task is precisely named. Preserve a clear entrusted task and proceed directly when the field is sufficient. For an idea or design, distinguish a property recovered about an existing object from a proposed specification for something being formed. Both can contribute, with their different states retained.

## Let knowledge change what becomes pertinent

Notice when the first question selects every source and judges its own completeness. Reach complementary owner-native knowledge that can change the field: purpose, domain, current capability, another person's actual work or a missed relation. Read the pertinent body, beyond its label. An unrepresented relation need not fit the first frame before it can matter. Reuse known competence and let what is learned revise the question and source selection.

## Change the observation where it reveals a difference

Keep the selected point and vary the relevant scale, time, source, role or representation when the current position hides a material relation. Preserve what each view actually establishes. A diagram can expose an interface that prose hid; a different role can reveal who needs to decide. A new view is a probe, not proof of its own interpretation. Another pass becomes useful through acquired understanding, without a fixed count of views or alternatives.

## Develop a constructive bridge

Form a useful question, exploration, proposal or small enabling action from the changed field. Let people, examples, domain competences and actual means progressively define what is needed. Two representations may carry equivalent, complementary or incompatible functions; understand their reasons before joining them. A potential collaboration can develop both participants' capabilities. Preserve each participant's actual situation instead of treating presumed interest, prestige or silence as consent or rejection.

## Prepare the following field and act

Consider what a present choice opens, preserves or removes for later work when that relation matters now. If the current result is sufficient, continue from it; apparent saturation of one frame does not establish the limit of future possibility. Prepare a concrete enabling relation within the selected mandate, or retain the unresolved relation and what could change it. A roadmap is revisable knowledge. A new repository, recurring task, handoff or external contact is formed only when the actual work and available controller make it useful and authorized.

## Use in the receiving environment

Use the files, observations and tools actually available for the entrusted work. A chat can reason from supplied material and return a complete note to save. A host with files can keep the competence and project guide reachable. Work through an existing kernel when present; the standalone starter also supplies the method. Ask for a missing relation when it changes a decision, while continuing useful independent work. Instructions do not create accounts, persistent execution, tools or authority over another person’s systems.

## Learning and continuation

Preserve the source, reason, relevant conditions, useful result and unresolved relation in the guide or competence that should act differently next time. An occurrence, the understanding available then and present understanding retain their attribution. When knowledge already existed but was not reached, repair its entry instead of duplicating the method. Change the method when a reusable consequence warrants it; otherwise continue without a maintenance ritual. A written correction makes knowledge available. Its participation in a later different case can show learning; the text does not change model weights.

## Entrusted work and material effects

Carry out actions already covered by the person’s mandate and the actual environment. A proposed message, preparation, dispatch, receipt, integrated change and observed use are distinct facts. Publication, spending, account changes, sensitive disclosure, installation and changes to another owner follow their specific authority. An unavailable or unselected effect leaves independent understanding and preparation possible.

## Operating knowledge

Read OPERATING_GUIDE.md and EXAMPLES.md as part of this method. They carry decision knowledge and worked cases. START_CHAT_EN.txt includes all three bodies for a chat without access to these files.

## Continue through the actual project

Preserve what changed the question, which source made that relation intelligible and where the useful consequence should continue.

The next different case can refine both possibility formation and the practical capability it helped form.

## Operating knowledge

Read OPERATING_GUIDE.md and EXAMPLES.md. With no file access, use the complete START_CHAT_EN.txt. The method composes with complementary project competences; actual tools, persistence and authorized effects belong to the receiving environment.

# Situated Possibility Formation — practical operating knowledge

## Emergence and determination

Do not fill an unresolved relation merely to make the idea legible. Equally, retain a form genuinely produced by the person, sources or work; reopening it by habit introduces reconstruction. A sketch may develop into a specification through participation. Distinguish a new source determination from the assistant's proposed continuation and preserve the reasons for a deferred direction.

## Support the field without replacing its form

Useful assistance may add knowledge, access, means, feedback or a missing competence without prescribing the eventual answer. If a capability already exists, make it participate. Form a new one when a continuing function needs it, then return what the work teaches. A larger tool set or more participants does not by itself create a more capable field.

## From a signal to a real continuation

A source can simultaneously teach a method, reveal a domain need and suggest a relationship. Qualify the relevant original context. Prepare substantive work before asking the person to coordinate routine mechanics. When the human alone can perform an account or binding step, identify that concrete step from current qualified information. A saved link or handoff is distinct from actual receipt, action and consequence; an existing recurring activity may already own the continuation.

## Distinguish a phenomenon from the resolution of its observation

Apparently identical traces can arise from different states that a representation rounds, aggregates or cannot distinguish. Qualify which measurement and transformation produce the observation and whether missing detail could change the question. Reach data or domain knowledge where that difference matters rather than adding precision without reason. This can open another way of observing without extending a particular scientific result to every process or claiming an unobserved state known.

## Possibility formation can change its own way of seeing

Direct work forms a possibility or an enabling condition. A meta relation appears when a new competence, question-forming method or source composition becomes necessary.

The relation is autological when this competence recognizes that its first filter excluded the knowledge that could change the filter. The correction returns to how later possibilities are recognized, while useful present determinations continue.

# Worked examples

Illustrative cases. Conditions, decisions and continuation are supplied to teach the method; these are not reports of customer results.

## A team's knowledge suggests a service

A team asks for a website but already holds a corpus, a support practice and recurring customer questions. The assistant understands those sources before deciding every page. A guided service becomes a possibility alongside the website. It forms the missing delivery questions and a small demonstrable case. The service remains a proposal until its operating and commercial relations are actually determined.

## A sketch becomes a design conversation

A person provides an incomplete sketch of a tool. The assistant distinguishes visible geometry from proposed behavior and asks about the interaction that changes use. Design knowledge and the person's correction develop a part specification; a new relation changes the whole. The assistant preserves this progress instead of repeatedly asking for a fully specified initial document.

## A paper changes the question without taking over the project

An unexpected paper suggests a method relevant to ongoing research. The assistant reads the actual contribution, distinguishes an analogous relation from independent evidence, and prepares a question or bounded exploration. The existing project direction remains present. Newness alone does not make this paper the next main project; its contribution is retained where it changes the work.

## Two equal readings open a question about representation

An educational lab compares two sensors: both displays show 23.4 and the group assumes their readings coincide. Available source values are instead 23.41 and 23.44, rounded to one decimal. The method neither assumes faulty sensors nor calls the display useless: it understands which difference the work must distinguish. For an approximate range, the representation may suffice; for smaller differences, reach qualified measurements and their conditions. The domain owner distinguishes recorded value, resolution, uncertainty and phenomenon. The guide preserves which question makes precision pertinent. This illustrative case does not establish metrological quality, identical physical states or the validity of every recorded digit.
