How to use the MAIOS Form package with Codex

The project is already configured. The information gathered allows Codex to align with the operating context and guide you towards the next stages.

Before you begin

You only need three things.

The package generated by the Form

It already contains your project context.

A new folder

Name it after the project and move the ZIP inside without changing it.

Codex in the desktop app

Open the folder in the app and start a conversation. The coder will handle the technical steps.

ChatGPT/Codex selected

The package contains CODEX_SETUP.md alongside the shared instructions. This is the dedicated route for this guide.

No environment selected

The package remains portable. Codex can open it through START_HERE.md and the root instructions.

Another environment selected

Its adapter remains part of the project. You can open the same package with Codex, but should not pretend that CODEX_SETUP.md is present.

In every case, AGENTS.md, START_HERE.md and START_WITH_YOUR_ASSISTANT.txt help the assistant continue from the exported context. A host-specific adapter is added only when that environment was selected.

Simple route

Put the ZIP in a folder and open it with Codex.

  1. Create a new folder named after the project.
  2. Place the package in the folder.
  3. Open that folder in the Codex desktop app and start a new chat.
  4. Use the next message: the coder will extract the ZIP and choose the pertinent entry.

You do not need to check Python, identify the inventory or run an installer. Those steps belong to the separate self-configuring MAIOS Project Kernel package, not the Form delivery.

This folder contains the package generated by the MAIOS Form. Extract it without changing the original ZIP and locate the project. Read AGENTS.md, START_HERE.md and START_WITH_YOUR_ASSISTANT.txt; if present, follow CODEX_SETUP.md as well. Preserve any adapters for the other selected environments. Reconstruct the context already gathered and show me where to continue without asking me to repeat the Form. Before changing any other files, explain in plain language what you found.

Codex prepares the working folder, reads the pertinent instructions and uses the context already provided. If a technical choice is needed, it should explain it and handle it after your confirmation.

Initial check

Before starting the work, show me what is already configured, what still needs a decision and which first concrete result we can verify.

During the conversation

Continue from the project, not from the Form.

  • Correct the context when needed. The initial documents are a revisable starting point.
  • Answer with what you know. “I do not know yet” keeps a decision open without inventing it.
  • Ask for one result at a time. You can see, correct and evolve each movement.
  • Leave technical operations to the coder. Ask for a plain explanation before important effects.
  • Authorize external effects separately. Sending, publishing, accounts and real services are not implicit.

I want to see the possibilities

Start from the context already gathered and show me the most useful possibilities for this project, including those the Form has not made visible yet. Do not choose for me.

I run a business or organization

Turn the project into a first useful result for my organization. Identify the people, sources, responsibilities and how I will be able to verify it.

I want to build an application

Reconstruct the initial state and propose a first prototype that demonstrates the main function. Handle the technical details, but explain the plan before applying it.

Codex cannot read the ZIP

Extract the ZIP with your operating system, then open the extracted folder in Codex and write: Read AGENTS.md, START_HERE.md and START_WITH_YOUR_ASSISTANT.txt, then continue from the context already configured by the Form.

Codex says it cannot find the entry files

The project is probably inside a subfolder. Write: Search the subfolders for START_HERE.md, show me the project path and continue from there without changing the original ZIP.

Codex asks me to repeat the Form

Write: The context is already in the package generated by the Form. Read the project documents again and ask me only for what is genuinely missing or has changed.

I want to resume in a new chat

Open a new chat in the same folder and write: Resume the project from the state saved in the files and show me the next useful movement.
